Nichola Shuttle

I studied holistic nutrition, specialising in health and wellness coaching at the Institute of Integrated Nutrition with Joshua Rosenthal, graduating in 2015. I have been working as a health and wellness coach for 5 years and qualified in my age group for the GB squad in sprint triathlon in 2019. I am based in Buckinghamshire and enjoy working with clients locally and further afield.

As a health and wellness coach, my mission has been to play a crucial role in improving the health and happiness of anyone who feels this work is a priority to them. I have helped support clients through sugar addiction, digestive disorders, inflammation, weight management, menopause, anxiety, type 2 diabetes and cancer.

To begin with I help clients assess their health and lifestyle habits. I ask about their personal relationship with food, review their commitment to physical activity and check in on their emotional wellbeing. As a partnership we discuss the opportunity for personal development by offering individual ideas and suggestions on how they might achieve their overall health and wellness goals.

I focus on a client’s strengths, values and what’s important to them. We create a plan that allows consistent, sustainable and long term wellness. It is a collaboration between coach and client that provides highly personalised support, guidance and accountability. We refer to the three pillars of health, supportive eating, active lifestyle and emotional health.

I have seen opportunities in a client’s life open up through this journey. They gain confidence and self-belief. They begin to respect their inner knowing and learn to trust themselves. They begin to restore their health and heal the ‘whole person’ which may help to extend their life without medication and severe illness. I have found the more they live in balance, respecting nature, themselves and their loved ones, the more likely they are to achieve their life goals, living a healthier and happier life.

On a personal level I have experimented with the ideas mentioned above. My dream has always been to try and represent my country through sport. In order for me to qualify for team GB, I had to made changes to my habits and start to focus on what best supports me, my training and races. I was interested in finding out what adaptions could be made in my mid-forties. A time when the body starts to slowly lose physical strength and the hormonal balance starts to shift. What has been amazing is that it’s the little steps that make the big difference. It’s the commitment and consistency that creates success. I have learned that by changing the way we think and the way we do things can have a hugely positive outcome. It’s an exciting journey and it continues to interest me.

If you think you might benefit from this work, please get in touch. I offer a free 30 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
